Slow Cooker Bananas Foster

Here's a new way to make bread pudding. You can't go wrong with the flavor of Bananas Foster.


8 cups day-old French bread, cubed

1 cup milk

1 cup half-and-half

4 eggs

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 stick butter, melted

2 ripe bananas, sliced

Caramel Sauce (recipe below)


Spray a slow cooker liner with baking spray. Place bread cubes in crock. Combine the remaining ingredients, pour over cubes, mixing gently until bread has absorbed the liquid. Cover; cook three hours on low. Serve warm with Caramel Sauce.


Caramel Sauce

1 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 stick butter

1/4 cup light corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla


Combine first four ingredients in a heavy saucepan and bring to a rolling boil, stirring with a wooden spoon. Reduce heat and cook until sauce thickens. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
