Shrimp Clemenceau

This version is based on the one found at Dooky Chase. It is a staple on their menu.


1/2 cup butter

2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced small

2 pounds small shrimp (fresh or uncooked, if frozen), peeled and deveined

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1/2 cup button mushrooms (fresh or canned)

1 cup green peas (if fresh oeas are used, precook them)

1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh parsely

1/3 cup white wine

2 teaspoons Creole seasoning


In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Addpotatoes. and cook until tender, 5 minutes. Add shrimp, garlic, and mushrooms; cook until shrimp are tender and pink, 2 to 3 minutes. Add peas, parsley, wine, and Creole seasoning; cook for about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
